How to Turn Off Microsoft Upload Center

There is no OfficeSyncProcess in the registry. Nothing in MSConfig with office in it. Any other ideas? Is there an actual solution for Office 2016 on windows ten?
It does seem in chore manager I can kill
C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Office\root\Office16\MSOSYNC.EXE
And it goes away.
Are nosotros actually maxim the merely style to disable this is to delete this file?

If you are not using OneDrive why get yourself distracted by something which will non be used and is not consuming whatsoever resource?
Your win/office installation is full of files/processes that may not be used, in your specific circumstances

Because I am using OneDrive for Music, pics, but I don't want to use it for spread sheets and word docs that have personal information in them. Exactly as y'all say why do I have to exist distracted by it always beingness present in thy task bar? Information technology wouldn't become away.
Somehow settings for it changed. Have no idea how merely at present I encounter "Uncheck Display Icon in Notification Area. ". I could swear that wasn't in that location yesterday. Anyhow unchecking and it is gone.

Because if it is running it is using resources!!!! It uses memory, CPU, and network bandwidth by continuously checking your OneDrive Cloud bulldoze. Since I don't take whatsoever files in OneDrive, nor plan on putting any there, my estimator doesn't need to be continuously checking to meet if I uploaded any files to information technology from another estimator.

I also demand to get rid of this. I use office backside a corporate firewall and get multiple prompts to sign in. MUC needs to either get away, or provide a mode to read the proxy settings in IE.

This may be a crude method - just it's the only affair that worked for me after finding no assistance online.
Go to C > Program Files > Microsoft Role > Root > Office16
Here you will find all the program .exe files for all the Function programs. One of these is the Upload Middle programme. It is called MSOUC.exe (you'll recognise it past the icon (large white pointer over an orange circumvolve).
Simply delete the file - and then Upload Eye no longer runs. Simple!

Deleting MSOUC.EXE and all of its registry entries doesn't ready the problem, I don't have Part 365 installed but I do take the free OneNote which information technology keeps recreating the file and all of its registry entries, it checks with Microsoft Server and reinstall it correct back, I wasted a couple of hours deleting MSOUC.EXE registry entries and at the end I was defeated. It is totally useless and to be honest a lot of programmers at Microsoft no longer think straight, they take the easy style out at the expense of the user time and resource.
Merely I take an idea, I am going to disable it from the Firewall and let's see how it goes, delight stand by…

Getting Rid of MSOUC.EXE
If you delete MSOUC.EXE, it resolves nil, it will be reinstalled right back, OneDrive connects to Microsoft Server for updating and fixing errors, so information technology volition exist reinstalled.
First and foremost y'all demand to disable MSOUC.EXE in Windows Firewall from both incoming and approachable rules earlier deleting information technology:

At present you can be certain; MSOUC.EXE won't re-infect your PC again when you activate OneDrive, its Setup will pop-upwardly merely terminated in a split second by the firewall rules, it won't exist able to communicate with Microsoft server and reinstall the MSOU.EXE dorsum.
I tested it 12 times in the past 24 hours and Microsoft server failed to reinstall MSOUC.EXE in my PC.

Use SETACL.exe to set DENY access to the READ permission for the local USERS grouping on C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Office\Office16\MSOSYNC.EXE
